Shallot

The name “shallot” comes from Ashkelon, a city in Israel, where people in classical Greek times believed shallots originated. Shallots are much favored by chefs because of their firm texture and sweet, aromatic, yet pungent, flavor. They can be stored for at least 6 months.

Growing Directions:

  • Ideal temperatures for growing are 59-95 F (15-35°C).
  • Growth appears in about 3-7 days.
  • Keep 1-3 healthy baby bud in the pot for cultivation.
  • The rest can be planted elsewhere.
